It was just a little more than a year ago that we met Melanie and Ryan for the first time in Jersey City for their wintry engagement session. Time has truly flown by and now we made it to their big day - such a wonderful way to kick off our new year!
Though January can be a challenge with less daylight and chilly temps - that did not stop us all from having the best day. We met up with Mel and Ryan at the beautiful Park Savoy Estate in Florham Park, New Jersey. Mel was in the dreamy bridal suite, taking in the gorgeous fireplace and getting ready with her best gals, while Ryan and the men got ready in the "mancave" downstairs with their own bar and cigar lounge. The energy and excitement in the air was infectious, everyone was eager to get the day started. Champagne popped and music was pumping as the girls did makeup, hair and got into their dresses. Melanie looked like a princess, completely glowing and ready to wed her prince! After reading a sweet letter from Ryan and shedding a few tears she was all set to go.
Meanwhile downstairs the men were getting some pampering of their own. As a gift to his best guys, Ryan brought in a barber to get everyone looking their best for the big day with a fresh shave and a trim. After a cut, hot towel and a straight razor shave Ryan was transformed into a handsome groom and ready for his first look with Melanie.
We staged the first look on the back of the property that overlooked the golf course. Ryan and Mel wanted their bridal party and immediate family to be able to enjoy the moment too, so they got front row seats to view it from the large wrap-around balcony. As Mel emerged and came down the stairs excitement from their crew erupted, cheering her on as if she were a pop star. The happy couple shared a special moment as they saw each other for the first time that day (with a few more tears from Mel!) As they embraced and whispered to each other you could truly feel how big their love for one another was!
We had some fun getting bridal party portraits after that, with their sizable crew of groomsmen and bridesmaids, it was super fun and made it feel like the party had already begun!
Next it was time for the wedding ceremony in the Park Savoy Chapel. The high ceilings and wooden beams gave the interior a roomy but cozy feeling and it was decorated beautifully with lanterns and rose petals lining the aisle. Ryan and Melanie were finally able to make it official and tie the knot, and they could not have been happier!
Everyone was ready and eager to dance the night away in the venue's ballroom which boasted a charming fireplace and gorgeous floral decor on the guest tables and the newlywed's sweetheart table. Watching Mel and Ryan throughout the night it was clear they were on cloud nine. From their first dances, to heartfelt speeches they were enjoying and taking in every single second of their special day.
It was truly such a pleasure working with Melanie and Ryan, getting to know them and being able to capture their love story.
Thank you for letting us share in your special day, we wish you only the best to come!
